A municipal arms of Lida dates from the end of XVI century and has historical and cultural value because it is the result of development of heraldic traditions of Western Europe. A lion is depicted on municipal arms of Poland, France and Germany. Two keys you can see on the municipal arms of the towns of Belarus, Germany and others.
The modern municipal arms of Lida is registered in the Heraldic matriculation of the Republic of Belarus on May 30, 2002 under No. 85.
