| On September 15, 2008 the Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus will issue the stamp “Municipal arms of Vitsebsk” from the series “Municipal arms of Belarus towns”, prepared by the Publishing Centre “Marka” of the EUR “Belpochta”. A series continuation. Beginning Nos. 403-404, 445, 495-496, 529-530, 593-595, 633-634, 675-676. Designer: Igor Buben. Printing: offset. Colour: full colour. Paper: chalk-surfaced, gummed. Perforation: comb 14¼: 14. Size of the stamp: 30x28 mm. Sheet composition: 10 stamps and 2 coupons. Designer of coupons: Ivan Lukin. Size of the sheet: 118x140 mm. Print quantity of the stamp: 40.000. There are elements of protection on the stamp. Historical reference: Municipal arms of Vitsebsk represents the image of Jesus Christ in profile against the blue ground of Spanish shield. Under him is the naked red sword. A cherub is his armour-bearer. On his left and right there are angels with a blue ribbon. Below the arms you can see the laurels. Religious and defensive symbolic is combined in the municipal arms of Vitsebsk. Holiness and patriotism of its inhabitants are reflected in it. Municipal arms of Vitsebsk is the historical and heraldic monument of Belarus. |
